Corazón, Grafito y Color  Susel Castillo (Costa Rica)

Susel Castillo Díaz nace en Costa Rica (Providencia-Puntarenas. San vito- Coto Bruss)  un 19 de agosto de 1988, desde muy pequeña se inicia en el dibujo, de forma autodidacta, siempre coloreando, haciendo líneas y figuras, inquietud que surge al ver a su madre siempre fabricar manualidades, el pintar y el bordar. Después de terminar  sus estudios secundarios pudo dedicarle más tiempo al dibujo para perfeccionar su técnica  en el retrato;  para esas fechas su padre era propietario de un negocio, donde ella pudo colocar sus primeras piezas a la venta y poco a poco se da a conocer. En el 2014 Susel ingresa al INA (Instituto Nacional de Aprendizaje) allí realizó talleres especializados en pintura  por  un periodo de 2 años, cursos que le ayudaron mucho para mejorar sus técnicas y aumentar su confianza como artista. Esta joven destaca su técnica en el acrílico, oleo, manualidades, cuadros en texturas de tizas pastel, aunque su fuerte es el retrato. En su paleta siempre están frescos los colores vivos, los amarillos, naranjas, turquesas.  “Te cuento dibujar me llevó más tiempo, en la pintura apenas he dedicado un año, lo cual es muy poco para mi, aun estoy en ese descubrimiento” “Me atrae la vida, los animales, en mis pinturas prevalece la vida silvestre”.

Castillo Díaz  sigue  con admiración a través de las redes  a los artistas José Luis Ramírez Vargas (Costa Rica), Marcelo Romaní, Fermín  García Sevilla (España), quienes  han servido de inspiración en la aplicación de algunas de sus técnicas  para sus obras, sin embargo en sus primeros años conto con el apoyo y enseñanzas  del Maestro Jorge  Valenciano  “el primer artista que conocí, el fue ese impulso en iniciar a los retratos”.

El Arte  lo es todo para Susel Castillo, es una  ventana a un mundo mágico, donde no se  hace otra cosa que no sea  pintar o plasmar realidades y sueños; mostrando felicidades o tristezas por medio de pinceladas en un trozo de papel.  “El arte es mi Corazón, simplemente por el hago maravillas, incluso que uno mismo se asombra de lo que es capaz de hacer”. Esta joven virtuosa desea a través de sus pinturas despertar  en la gente la conciencia y admiración por todas las bellezas y riquezas que tenemos y que debemos proteger y preservar.

The art in the Heart of Susel Castillo (Costa Rica)

              

Susel Castillo Díaz was born in Costa Rica (Providencia-Puntarenas, San Vito-Coto Bruss) on August 19, 1988. Since she was very young, she started drawing, in a self-taught way, always coloring, making lines and figures, a restlessness that arises to see her mother always make crafts, paint and embroider. After completing high school, he was able to devote more time to drawing to perfect his technique in portraiture; for those dates her father was the owner of a business, where she was able to place her first pieces for sale and little by little she made herself known. In 2014, Susel joined the INA (National Institute of Learning) where she specialized in painting for a period of 2 years, courses that helped her a lot to improve her techniques and increase her confidence as an artist. This young woman highlights her technique in acrylic, oil, handicrafts, textures of pastel chalks, although her strength is the portrait. In his palette, the bright colors are always fresh, yellow, orange, turquoise, among others. Castillo Díaz follows with admiration through the networks the artists José Luis Ramírez Vargas (Costa Rica), Marcelo Romaní, Fermín García Sevilla (Spain), who have served as inspiration in the application of some of his techniques for his works, However, in his early years he had the support and teachings of Maestro Jorge Valenciano "the first artist I met, he was  impulse to start the portraits."

Hablemos de arte con… Ricardo Vega (Costa Rica)

1 ¿Que ha significado para Ricardo Vega  dedicarse a las artes plásticas, específicamente el dibujo y la pintura?

_ Ha sido todo un reto, no es tan fácil, se ha tenido que pasar por un proceso de formación, mucha inversión de horas de trabajo, dinero para avanzar, también he logrado romper  mis propios paradigmas y los de la gente que al principio pensaban que esto solo era un hobby. Se han abierto muchas puertas dentro y fuera de mi país gracias a las artes.

2 ¿Que te gustaría dar a conocer de ti y de tu obra?

_ Mi obra  es un reflejo de lo que he estado leyendo, en mis trabajos  de tinta (estos, han sido los que más se han expuesto) tienen que ver con las memorias, pensamientos, emociones, todo esto es un conglomerado que afecta nuestra vida, para bien o para mal, tratar de visualizarlos a  partir  de la mancha, por eso hay diferentes lenguajes en ella; y de mi la mayor fortaleza  es la perseverancia, he pasado por altos y bajos, externos e internos, soy un poco resistente, cuando algo no sale como esperaba, trato de ver la oportunidad que hay detrás de ello y sacar provecho, esto me ha ayudado a salir de los momentos de  estancamiento.

3 ¿Sus Obras son el resultado de una inspiración o la respuesta a un hecho?

_ Un poco de ambas, la mayoría es inspiración, viene de una serie de experiencias vividas, otras obras son el reflejo de  situaciones  que experimento  en el dia a dia, muchas veces emocionales y que me han ayudado a drenar o dar solución a algunos problemas.

4 ¿El arte debe generar un proceso de reflexión o es simplemente un deleite visual?

_  El arte debe tener de ambas, debe haber deleite en la ejecución, puede ser  también un  proceso no placentero, refiriéndome con esto a pintar a partir de una emoción negativa o dolorosa. Por cualquier medio puede llegarse a tener una pintura o dibujo que genere reflexión, además, cada espectador termina la obra desde su propia experiencia, uno como creativo solo da la guía.

5 ¿Que elementos dentro de su obra buscan activar procesos reflexivos?

Como mi trabajo es en gran parte figura, me  enfoco mucho en los ojos, en los gestos; por supuesto en la composición y las formas geométricas dentro de las pinturas son una guía importante para leer la obra, al igual que símbolos, personalmente me gustar pintar expresiones de ojos abiertos , atentos, incitando al espectador a tener un dialogo con la obra, también cerrados los utilizo para algunas piezas, esto para dar una sensación de tranquilidad, es casi una meditación impregnada en el papel o lienzo.

Existe infinidad de recursos simbólicos para activar la reflexión y poner al público a pensar en el mensaje oculto, esto activa la curiosidad de las personas a preguntar qué quiere decir el autor.

Ricardo Vega (Costa Rica)

1.-What has it meant for Ricardo Vega to dedicate himself to the plastic arts, specifically drawing and painting?

_ It has been a challenge, it is not so easy, i has had to go through a process of formation, a lot of investment of hours of work, money to advance, I have also managed to break my own paradigms and those of the people who at the beginning thought that this was just a hobby. Many doors have been opened inside and outside of my country thanks to the arts.

2.-What would you like to make known about yourself and your work?

_ My work is a reflection of what I have been reading, in my ink works (these, have been the most exposed) have to do with memories, thoughts, emotions, all this is a conglomerate that affects our life, for better or for worse, try to visualize them from the shadow, that is why there are different languages ​​in it; and from me the greatest strength is perseverance, I have gone through highs and lows, external and internal, I am a little resistant, When something does not go as I expect, I try to find the opportunity behind and take advantage of it, this has helped me to get out of the moments of stagnation.

3.-Are your Works the result of an inspiration or response to a fact?

_ A little of both, most is inspiration, comes from a series of experiences, other works are the reflection of situations that I experience in the day to day, many times emotional and that have helped me to drain or solve some problems.

4.-Does art have to generate a process of reflection or is it simply a visual delight?

_ The art must have both, there must be delight in the execution, it can also be an unpleasant process, referring with this to paint from a negative or painful emotion. By any means you can get to have a painting or drawing that generates reflection, in addition, each viewer finishes the work from his own experience, one as creative only gives the guide.

5.-What elements within your work seek to activate reflexive processes?

_As my work is largely part figure, i focus a lot on the eyes, on the gestures; of course in the composition and geometric shapes within the paintings They are an important guide to read the image, like the symbols. Personally, I like to paint open-eyes expressions, Attentive, encouraging the viewer to have a dialogue with the work, also closed I use them for some pieces, this to give a feeling of tranquility, it is almost a meditation impregnated in the paper or canvas.

There is an infinity of symbolic resources to activate the reflection and put the public to think about the hidden message, this activates the curiosity of the people to ask what the author means.
